Some voices are too precious to lose.

AWWDIO saves voice notes from WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal so you can find them again. Every voice is written down, filed by who said it and when, and brought back to you on the right day.

The problem

Voice notes get buried

Your mum's birthday message. Your son's first proper sentence. Your best friend crying with laughter at 2am.

They are all still in your chats somewhere, under thousands of messages. Then the chat gets cleared, or the phone gets replaced, and they are gone.

You kept her first shoes. Keep her first words.

See it in a minute

Saving, finding and remembering, in one minute.

How it works

Save a voice note in three seconds

AWWDIO writes it down, dates it from when it was sent where the app allows, and files it in your timeline.

  1. 1. Hold the voice note

In WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal, then tap Forward or Share.

  2. 2. Choose AWWDIO

It sits in the row of apps on the share sheet.

  3. 3. It is saved

A card shows for three seconds and you are back in your chat. Add who is speaking if you like, or skip it.

Who it is for

Parents

The first words, the made up songs, the bedtime chats you will never get back.

Grown up children

A parent or grandparent saying your name, kept somewhere safe.

Friends and partners

The long rambling ones, the birthday ones, the ones that made you cry laughing.

Anyone who sends voice notes

If you have ever scrolled for ten minutes looking for one, it is for you.

Reminders and a widget

A gentle nudge to listen back, and a voice of the day on your home screen.

The app speaks yours, and transcripts can be translated on the phone.

Privacy

Your voices stay yours

We built AWWDIO so that we never see what you save. There is nothing to hand over because we do not have it.

  • No account and no sign in.
  • Your voices and transcripts stay on your phone. We cannot hear them, read them or see who is in them.
  • No adverts, ever. We never sell or share your recordings.
  • Export everything whenever you like, free.
  • Nothing is deleted unless you delete it, and even then it waits 30 days in Recently deleted.

Questions

Which apps does it work with?

WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal. Messenger, Viber and iPhone Messages do not let you share a voice note out, so AWWDIO cannot save from them.

How much does it cost?

Saving, transcripts, search, people, memories and export are free with no limit. A paid option to back up your voices off the phone will come later. What is free now stays free.

Can you listen to my voice notes?

No. They stay on your phone and nothing is sent to us.

What language are the voices written down in?

The language set in Settings. You can change it for one person or one voice.

What happens if I lose my phone?

If your iPhone backs up to iCloud or to a computer, your voices are in that backup. Set up your new iPhone from it, or move across with Quick Start, and they come back with everything else. If you do not back up, use Export everything in Settings to keep your own copy.

Is there an Android version?

It is being built now.
